Kadee Craft was born and raised in the all-inspiring city of Atlanta, Georgia. Surrounded by the influence of the city her whole life, she desired to find her own path in its creative landscape. With a family full of creatives, mainly artists, engineers, and chefs, she found herself at a loss for what creative career path to choose. It wasn’t long before her artist father reminded her that her innate skills of experimentation and intuition would be perfect for art. It was this moment of clarity, that forever changed her destiny.
Immediately, Craft decided to seek out an apprenticeship in order to sharpen her artistic skills. She found an opening with the one-and-only Craig Alan, known for his ability to push the boundaries of visual expression. After several years of learning under Alan, she felt ready to branch out on her own. Her understanding of color and form has expanded beyond her wildest imagination, and she gives all the thanks to Alan.
It is very important to her to have a unique artistic identity. She has spent countless hours working on her style and expression in hopes of discovering who Kadee Craft is as an artist. What she found with every playful stroke and whimsical turn of her brush is best summed up in the words of Bruce Garrabrandt, "Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones." These words began to shift her focus from constantly striving to a true reflection of how joyous the act of creating can be. Today she allows the simple beauty of everyday life to inspire her artistic expression. Discarding the fear of having to be a certain kind of artist and just surrendering to being the great artist she is innately creates such freedom in her work.
Today, you can find Craft painting fearlessly in her studio in Atlanta. Her artistic talents are on full display, as she continues to expand her reach within the art world. According to Craft, she wants to learn all she can about painting,and is open to trying additional art forms. “I am curious to learn new ways of expressing my experiences through art. It is a beautiful way of connecting with people. At the end of the day I want to continue to see the beauty of life, translating it onto every canvas while inspiring others to do the same.”
