Joshua Bradley

Joshua Bradley was raised in 70's rural Georgia, just outside of Atlanta, where he helped out on his family's farm. Spending most of his days with nature, Bradley's interest in art began with drawing the intricate farm equipment and the landscapes behind them. His exploration of art was a way to experience something richer than the normal details of small-town life.

By the time Bradley was 16, nearly all of his free time was spent drawing landscapes. Bradley was exposed to fine art at age 17 after a visit to the High Museum in Atlanta. It was then that Bradley decided to pursue art at Savannah College of Art and Design, where he focused on painting and sculpture. Bradley was influenced by Dutch Renaissance painters and his thesis was based on Art and Physics by Leonard Shlain and writings of Robert Motherwell. Aprofessor at SCAD took interest in Bradley's work and imparted wisdom that has stayed with Joshua in his everyday life to this day. Quoting former president Calvin Coolidge, he told Bradley, "Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

Bradley returned to his hometown after graduation and was able to see his childhood home with a fresh perspective. His painting style expanded, and he began to show his work more often. His work debuted at Art Expo New York 2004 and was received with great praise. His work continues to be collected throughout the world.
